FAQs – Edit Text:
•  How do I copy and paste text from a document into the Text Box of my Personal Page?
•  What do the different buttons mean on the toolbar of the Edit Text box?
How do I copy and paste text from Word into the Text Box of my Personal Page?
1.  Select the item you want to copy.
2.  Click Copy on the toolbar.
3.  Go to the Edit Text box on the Personal Page of the Participant Centre.
4.  Click Edit Text.
5.  Place your cursor in the Text Box.
6.  Click CTRL+V or click Paste Plain Text on the toolbar.
7.  Place your cursor in the Paste Plain Text box and click Ctrl+V to paste.
8.  Click on the OK button.
What do the different buttons mean on the toolbar of the Edit Text box?
  Print
  Search text for a keyword
  Cut
  Copy
  Paste
  Paste from Word and maintain formatting
  Paste as text (removes formatting)
  Paste as html
  Undo / redo
  Italicize text
  Bold text

  Apply Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a simple mechanism for adding style (e.g. fonts, colors, spacing) to Web documents to provide consistency in font and style across all pages of a website.  You are able to use the pull down menu to select and apply different styles (formats) to your text (i.e. PageSubTitle)
  Create hypertext link (i.e. web page or e-mail)
  Remove hypertext link
  Bullets and numbering (for lists)
  Create new paragraph
  Create a table. From the drop down highlight the number of columns and rows required for your table
  Insert symbol

  Insert Merge Fields (Insert Code Snippet), event links or data fields, allows you to insert a link to another part of the event site or insert a merge field such as team name.
  Insert Date or Insert Time
  Text Alignment: Align Left, Align Centre or Align Right

The bottom, left corner shows the different editing modes offered by the system:

  Design Mode. This is the default mode and is in WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) mode. Allows you to view and edit text as it will appear on the page.
  HTML Mode. Shows the content in HTML.
